Galaxy / Android eSIM setup, by brand

5 min read · Updated September 16, 2026
On Galaxy you install via "Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code." If the provider has an app, some devices install without a QR code via "Direct install" in the app. Menu names differ slightly depending on the One UI version and model, and other Android phones like Pixel use a different path. After installing, set the mobile data line to the eSIM and turn on data roaming.

Installing on Galaxy (Samsung)

  • Settings → Connections → SIM manager
  • Add eSIM (or Add mobile network) → Scan QR code
  • Scan the provider's QR code → line added
  • Name the line "Travel" or similar

Essential settings after installing

  • In SIM manager, set the "Mobile data" line to the travel eSIM
  • Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → turn on Data roaming
  • Keep your existing number as the default line for calls and texts

Pixel and other Android phones

On Google Pixel you install via "Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up eSIM." Motorola, Sony, and others also generally have Add eSIM under "Network/Connections → SIM." Since the path differs by manufacturer, the fastest way is to type "eSIM" into the Settings search box.
