A Japan eSIM may ride a different local network depending on the product. Check the network the product lists and the official service area for the places you're visiting, and compare the total cost of fixed-data and unlimited plans over the same trip length before you choose.

Japan's main carriers

Japan's main carriers are NTT Docomo, au (KDDI), and SoftBank. An eSIM product rides one or more of these networks, and which one it uses varies by product. How much you'll need
